Photos? Kinda. Front page? Sorta.
Today I ran into a little bit of trouble setting up Coppermine through GoDaddy installation. I think it was my Internet connection’s fault.
Despite the setback, www.jasonhdavis.com/photos has seen some photos uploaded. Still need to redesign the thing. I’m particularly not happy with the thumbnail sizes. It goes from acceptably tiny, to not a big enough medium, to WAY too big. I know Coppermine allows for changing these sizes. However, it would probably help with uploading if I scaled them to around 1024px wide.
***Edit*** Looks like I messed something up. No pictures tonight. Will fix it tomorrow.
Still working on adding RSS to Photos. I was hoping that would be up by tonight.
Also, the front page is coming together. I worked on getting the page to render correctly. The top header is a little askew, but I can tweak it once bigger things are together. The design is here: www.jasonhdavis.com/test.html
I’m still trying to figure out a good way to put just a couple of stories on the front page. I installed reBlog, which is an online RSS parser that publishes to HTML. I’m thinking I can use reBlog as an intermediate to format the content, then I can simply make the homepage up with iframes.
There’s probably a much simpler way to set it up. Especially for how simple my implementation is going to be, however, not knowing php makes it a fair amount harder.
